Practicing humanity

I was listening to a press conference by Andrew Cuomo about NY state’s response to the novel corona virus today.

He mentioned something that I’ve never really heard before.

He asked New Yorkers to practice their humanity. He prefaced it by saying, so few people talk about it because it’s assumed.

What does it mean to practice humanity?

Smiling.

Holding the door open.

Saying hello.

Appreciating service workers.

Being kind without reason.

Giving back and volunteering.

What else?
