Self-learning

Learning how to learn is powerful, yet rarely taught.

In fact, we’re taught the opposite: to learn we must have teachers, tests and a classroom. For most, this premise carries into adulthood.

We require institutions to credential us in order to signal our value to others.

An economist once asked if you had the option between a Princeton education or a diploma which would you choose?

Most would choose a diploma over the education.

A few would rather choose to learn how to learn.

By learning you’re able to create and do things faster than others. It’s a skill that compounds with time as you learn more. With more knowledge about the market, you’re able to respond quickly to changes and adapt.

Takeaway: optimize for learning.
