Selective memory

Our memories can be deceiving.

Emotional and more dramatic situations are more likely to stand out than facts and figures.

We’re more likely to retain emotional and dramatic situations than facts and figures. It’s also likely that we distort memories of the past to be more comforting in the present.

When making decisions, be cautious of letting emotions sway you towards or away from something.

What did you do the last time you were emotional? How did you feel? sad? angry? happy? What are the stories you told yourself?
