Hard choices, easy life…

In any given situation we have two options:

  1. Accept
  2. Reject

More often than not, rejection is harder than acceptance.

We’re not wired to reject things. It’s not natural.

In fact, Newton’s first law of motion even describes it, “An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.”

Most of the tension in my life has come from times when I sought change. These times also lead to the greatest amounts of growth for me. I wonder if change and growth are related.

A question that’s been top of mind for me is:

Does growth require change?

I haven’t thought of a good answer yet but would love to hear thoughts or experiences you’ve had with growth or change.

On a related note, a heuristic I often default to when making decisions is:

Hard choices, easy life. Easy choices, hard life.

I liked the quote so much, I made it my wallpaper as a reminder.
